“Your plan is ruined!” you say, proudly holding up the basilisk. “It is petrified and no use to you.”
“Actually, I wanted it petrified,” the pet shop owner says as he rips it out of your grasp. “I was worried about the danger of doing this myself, so really: thank you!”
“We heard your conversation and know that you are running out of time to complete your evil plan,” Neko-chan says.
“Well, thanks to you two, you’ve put me right on schedule,” the pet shop owner says. “And who says my plan is evil, anyway?”
“You’ve captured six mythical creatures, and are taking them somewhere to do something with them,” you say. “That can’t be good.”
“Says who?” the pet shop owner responds. “All of these creatures are dangerous. How would your mom feel if I had to deliver the stone version of you to her front door?”
“So you are doing the world a favor then?” Neko-chan asks.
“I don’t have time to argue with you,” the pet shop owner says. “I have important things to do.”
The pet shop owner takes out a scroll from his pocket and begins to read the ancient text aloud. A storm erupts outside the pet shop and the building shakes from the force of the wind and thunder.
“I don’t care what he says,“ Neko-chan tells you. “He isn’t doing anyone a favor beside himself and his master. We need to stop him!”
You notice that Neko-chan crouches, and is preparing to pounce on the pet shop owner.
You say:
“Grab the scroll from his hand! He won’t be able to finish the spell.” {C-10-A}
