Before you can react, Neko-chan leaps at the pet shop owner, grabs the scroll out of his hands and drops to the floor.

“I have the scroll now!” Neko-chan announces, triumphantly. He quickly shreds it with his claws. “Your plan is ruined!”

The pet shop owner is surprised and pauses for a moment before reaching down and picking up Neko-chan.

“You’re a bad little kitten,” the pet shop owner says. “You’ve been nothing but trouble around here!”

“I know!” Neko-chan says with a smile.

“Well, that is going to stop now!” the pet shop owner says. “You think you’ve stopped me, but really, you’re just going to join me, since I happen to remember the last part of the ancient text.”

He quickly chants out the final sentence and before you can react, the pet shop owner and Neko-chan vanish.

You look around the pet shop for hours, trying to find something that will allow you to follow them. All you can find is the shredded scroll. Eventually, you go home.

You wonder what happened to Neko-chan anytime there is a thunderstorm.
