You pick up Neko-chan and run as fast as you can. You jump over bags of food and cat litter. You try to go towards the front door but it is blocked with all the stock that has fallen off the shelves. You drop Neko-chan and instinctively cover your ears as you are blown over by a sudden shock wave, and what sounds like the very fabric of space and time being torn apart.

There is a brilliant flash that momentarily blinds you. When your eyes clear, you find that you and Neko-chan are in a dimly-lit hallway with walls made of some dark, shiny metallic substance.

“What just happened?” you ask. Neko-chan has moved forward into the hallway.

“I don’t know,” Neko-chan says, “but this looks like the inside of the pet shop, only it’s made of some kind of strange mineral?”

“But what does that mean?” you ask.

“I think the whole pet shop was transported to where this place is, and somehow it’s become a part of it,” Neko-chan says./

“And we’ve been transported with it,” you add.

“But where is the pet shop owner, and where are the other animals?” Neko-chan asks.

“He is probably going to the altar to reunite with his master,” you remind Neko-chan.

“Where is that?” Neko-chan asks.

“How would I know,” you respond. “We just got here together.”

You look around for any clue as to which way to go. The shiny walls provide no clues so you decide to just start walking. You finally come out into a vast room with many doorways opening in its dark, shiny walls. You see the pet shop owner, his master, and the five creatures at the top of a tall, narrow pyramid in the center of the room.

In the middle of the pyramid, many steep, narrow steps lead high up to the altar, and there are two foot bridges extending from the walls to the altar platform at the top of the pyramid.

“I hope you have good balance because those stairs look uneven.” {C-11-B}

“There has to be stairs leading up to one of those bridges over here.”{C-11-A}
