You make a mad dash directly for the top of the pyramid, catching Neko-chan completely by surprise.

“Wait!,” Neko-chan yells. “They’ll see you!”

“I don’t care,” you tell him. “I’m knocking that altar over, and stopping this right now!”

You see the pet shop owner strapping each of the five mythical creatures onto the altar and it inspires you to run faster up the stairs. The master glances down at you and then focuses on the pet shop owner.

“It looks like they are underestimating us,” Neko-chan says as he catches up to you.

You hear the pet shop owner and his master begin to chant in unison. The pet shop owner reaches into the reflective box and grabs the basilisk. The five creatures avoid its gaze, buying you more time.

You finally reach the top of the pyramid and slam your entire body into the altar, but bounce off of it painfully and drop to the floor. The altar is heavier than expected, and you now see that it is carved out of a massive block of the same metallic mineral that the walls are made of.

Your valiant attempt to disrupt the event only startles the mythical creatures. The pet shop owner takes advantage of the distraction and is able to petrify each one with the basilisk.

“Your efforts to stop us are very helpful, my young friend,” the pet shop owner says.

He begins to chant again with his master and the five mythical creature ignite into flames.

You cringe in horror, thinking about their suffering when you notice that they aren’t burning even though their bodies are engulfed in flames. Soon, the entire altar is a blazing inferno.

You see the animals swirling around inside the flames and they begin to change shape. It appears like they are starting to combine.

“I can still stop this,” Neko-chan says. “I need to get into the flames.”

You say:

“That’s crazy, Neko-chan. There is no way I’m going to let you do that.” {C-12-A}

“That magical fire isn't burning. If you think you can stop this, I believe in you.” {C-12-B}
