“Hello, little bird,” you say as you make your way to the little orange parrot. It jumps eagerly toward you.

“I’m Sunny the sun conure...I’m Sunny the sun conure.”

“You’re a pretty bird. I’ve never seen a bird quite as bright as you,” you say admiring her plumage. It is vivid orange all over, with an emerald green and sapphire blue tail.

Sunny starts to fly around her cage, lands, and then bobs up and down, as if giving you a welcoming dance.

“You’re a funny little bird with impressive moves,” you say. “I like that but I want a parrot that I can talk to. What else do you know how to say?”

“Lots of things!” the bird says, cocking its head. “What else do you know how to say?” You’re certain that it is smiling at you.

“I know lots of things, too!” you say. “I came here to this petshop to find a friend and it looks like maybe you’re the one. What do you think?”

“Depends,” Sunny replies while clinging to the bars of the cage. You notice that Sunny is gazing longingly at the bag of food you’re holding, and says, “Mmm, good! I’m ready for a bite.”

You want to feed your new friend and open up the bag. Suddenly, the aroma of the bird food hits your nose and you exclaim, “Wow, that’s the most amazing smell ever!” and you actually consider tasting it.

“That’s the good stuff,” Sunny reports.

You say:

“It smells too good to pass up. Let’s share some,” as you taste a little and give some to Sunny. {B-III-A}
