Sunny crunches through a handful of the colorful food.

“Mmm!,” you hear as crumbs of food scatter all over the place. You think you hear her say, “Delicious,” but it is hard to make out over the crunching. She flaps her wings excitedly, spreading the crumbs throughout the aisle and into the other bird cages.

Moments later, every bird that consumed the food starts squawking at the top of their lungs. “More Please!” they all yell together.

They won’t stop until you appease them. You close the bag, hold it closely against you, and retreat with Sunny’s cage into a different section.

You thought you were far enough away to hear yourself think when all of the birds start calling out, “Eldorado! Eldorado! Eldorado!”

“What are they talking about, Sunny?” you ask.

“Eldorado!” she says.

“What is Eldorado?” you ask.

She pauses for a moment, “Not what, but where! El Dorado is the lost city of gold!”

“Lost city of gold? Is it really lost, and is there really gold there? And how much gold are we talking about?” You imagine a fantastical city made of solid gold and are intrigued to know more.

“I can tell you about my home on the way there. All you have to do is let me out of this cage,” Sunny pleads.

You say:

“I would love to help you, but I can’t just let a bird out of its cage at a petshop.”{B-IV-C}
