The two of you hurry up the stairs as quietly as you can, hoping to locate the pet shop owner without being detected. You successfully navigate the passageways of the pet shop unnoticed, and see the pet shop owner going up another set of stairs.
The two of you track him into an attic where large items are stored. He is visibly upset about something.
“I can’t believe that failed. I really thought that was the right one,” the pet shop owner says. “I’ve been testing snakes for weeks now and this one was wrapped around what I thought was one of its petrified victims!”
“What does ‘petrified’ mean?” you whisper to Neko-chan.
“Petrified means to turn to stone. I think the ‘snake’ he is looking for is really a basilisk. They can turn anything into stone just by looking at it,” Neko-chan whispers back. “They are extremely dangerous!”
The conversation is halted when the pet shop owner slams his hand down on a large crate./
“I’ve found five of the six creatures and I don’t want to report I didn’t find them all,” the pet shop owner says to himself out loud. “Where did I put that reflective box?”
He starts tossing boxes all over, the more frustrated he gets. Dodging out of the way as quickly and quietly as possible, you momentarily lose sight of Neko-chan. You glance around anxiously, and then noticed that Neko-chan has accidentally become trapped in one of the crates. He stares at you wide-eyed and scared through the metal grate.
“Finally,” the pet shop owner says as he finds the box and rushes towards the door. He is coming in your direction.
You whisper:
“Scoot over, I’m coming into that carrier with you, Neko-chan.” {C-7-A}
Or“I’ll hide down stairs and find out where he goes and then I’ll be back for you.” {C-7-B}
