You swim as fast as you can to help your friend fend off the two mutated sharks. This gets the attention of Dr. Volitan and he turns around.

“Arrogant human,” Dr. Volitan yells. “I’d love to see how you are going to help a little goby against two natural predators of the reef. You think you can do anything. You humans are always trying to mess up the natural order of things.”

Undeterred, you move in to protect Toby. The sharks are too fast for you to do anything and you find yourself their prisoner.

“Ha!” Dr. Volitan laughs, “that was even more pathetic than I imagined. If all humans are anything like you, then destroying your species will be easy!”

“You’ll never get away with this, Dr. Volitan!” you say. “You can’t control the minds of everyone in the sea!”

“I have control of the entire fish council,” Dr. Volitan says. “Now that I captured Toby, the only thing that can stop me is this pearl. I will destroy the human race and it is going to start now! I’ll show you!”

Swimming down into the depths, Dr. Volitan uses his powers to control a huge humphead wrasse.

“The jaws on this fish can crush anything!” Dr. Volitan says. He places the pearl in the wrasse’s mouth, and in an instant, the big fish bites down and destroys the pearl.

You worry about how anyone will ever stop Dr. Volitan when you hear him yelling, “NO!”

Dr. Volitan’s head begins to shrink, while the mutated sharks begin changing back to normal.

“The pearl!” Toby says. “Those irradiated pearls must have been what changed Dr. Volitan and his minions!”

“He must have been in contact with those pearls for some time!” you say. “The powers he developed were directly linked to the energy field given off by them.”

You realize that you don’t want this type of threat to happen again so you become the human representative to the council of fishes. You facilitate a new relationship between humans and the oceans, creating a better world for everyone.
