You find yourself in between two snarling puppies, neither of whom will back down.

“Fighting isn’t going to fix the situation,” you tell them. “I want both of you to back off each other.”

“I’m not listening to you,” Tasi says. “You’ve taken her side completely!”

“I’m not on her side,” you say.

“Will you listen to me just this one time?” Tasi asks.

“I listen to you every time, Tasi,” you say. “I will always listen to what you say because you always offer valuable information that I consider when making a decision.”

“I know,” she says. “I really respect that.”

You are startled by the power of a flying saucer that suddenly is hovering over you, and yet your companions seem unfazed.

The huge craft lands and you watch with amazement as three beings exit. The first one is a gray-skinned alien with a bulbous head and large, black eyes. The second is a cat, and the third is the pet shop owner.

“Congratulations!” Tasi exclaims. “We’re happy to inform you that you are the last selection.”

“The last selection of what?” you ask, doing a double-take as Tasi has just transformed into a tall, shaggy creature right before your eyes. Long, orange hair covers her entire body, even her face so that you cannot tell if she is looking directly at you or not.

“The universe needs a fifth judge on the council to determine intergalactic disputes,” the gray alien explains.

“We need you to provide your insight and be the tie-breaking vote,” the cat says.

“You have proven yourself worthy and there is a lot to do,” the pet shop owner informs you.

“Will you join us and help all living creatures in our universe?” Shaggy Orange Tasi asks.

“I would be honored,” you say.

You become the most important intergalactic judge in the history of the universe.
