With Singer in your arms, you run away from the junk monster as fast as you can. Singer springs out of your grasp.

“I’m not leaving them behind,” Singer says, as she runs back into the junkyard. You hide just outside the fence, terrified of what you might see.

Singer runs straight at the junk monster and bounds off of its leg. She runs around it, causing the junk monster to spin around. The junk monster can’t find the dog for a moment so it looks in the opposite direction, allowing Singer to run and hide behind the cars that fell on Tasi and Lolo.

You wait in anticipation and see the junk monster walking toward the back of the junkyard hunting for the dogs. As it walks around the corner, the three dogs immediately dash from behind the stacks of crushed cars near you.

“You’re okay!”you say, excitedly.

“We are,” Lolo says.

“We feel like part of a family now,” Tasi says.

Surprised, you start to smile and reach down to pick her up.

“I wasn’t talking to you,” Tasi snaps. “I was talking to Singer and Lolo.”

The three dogs come together as if they were hugging and then run away leaving you wondering if you could ever do anything that would make it up to them. You walk home knowing that someone else will have to deal with the monster you left behind and deciding that you won’t make the same mistake ever again.
