“How can I get back without revealing the city?” you ask.

“I will show you soon, but first I want you to come with me,” Chia says. She leads you to a room in her palace that you didn’t know was there. “This sacred treasury contains the golden statues of our ancestral heroes and leaders,” she says. She picks one up and hands it to you. Struggling for a moment with its weight, you’re amazed when you recognize the inspiration.

“Hey, that’s me!” you exclaim.

“In honor of the great respect you’ve earned from us, we have made this golden treasure for you to take with you and remember us by,” she says.

“Thank you,” you say, and then, “I’m ready to go home now.”

All of your new friends wish you well as you follow Chia to the top of a golden pyramid. “We have created a portal for you to return home. We will miss you and we hope that life will bless you with good fortune.”

With that, you enter the portal at the top of the golden pyramid and instantly appear back home. You have mixed feelings about your decision until you think of all the people that you missed. You can’t wait to tell them about your adventure and show them your statue.

About a year later, you are thinking about how you would love to return to El Dorado when you notice something out of place in your room. It is a beautifully crafted golden model of daily life in El Dorado. You immediately realize that Chia sent you a golden gift to thank you for keeping their city safe and hidden. Each year for the rest of your life, you receive a solid gold memento commemorating your friendship and guardianship of El Dorado.
